Abstract

The article discusses the features of transport services for tourists, their accommodation, and also reveals the main aspects of the sale of basic and auxiliary services, as a result of which the role of transport services in the tourism industry is revealed. Meta stats indicate the role of transport services in the development of the tourism industry and the need to improve transport services on the territory of Ukraine with the improvement of access to foreign countries.

This article reveals the role of transport services in the development of the tourism industry. Transport, due to its role in the movement of goods and people, has a decisive influence on other sectors of the world economy, including international tourism. Transport services have a direct impact on the social sphere, influencing and enabling travel. The development of tourism and transport are two interrelated problems: tourists need transport services, for which they pay from their budget, so that they are safe, fast and comfortable. They have to choose between four main modes of transport: rail, water, road, air. Thus, with the development of international tourism, international transportation is developing. Rail transport plays an important role in tourism, being both a mode of transportation and a separate tourist attraction, but the volume of rail traffic in tourism today is steadily declining. This is due to the geographical position of individual macro-regions and countries, the location of tourist centers, the peculiarities of using transport networks that have lost their functional significance. All this necessitates a comprehensive study of the place and importance of railway transport in tourism. In particular, the article discusses current trends in the development of rail transport in tourism and the geography of this type of transport in the tourist segment. The European macro-region is distinguished by the largest share of rail passenger traffic in tourism, in this regard, the authors selected the ten most significant European rail transport companies and gave their characteristics. The largest carriers today are actively oriented towards the tourism sector, their websites are adapted for travelers from different countries and allow tourists to independently plan their route. Rail transport is the basis for transport tours and excursions, as well as for rail cruises.
